RPM9 stands for Rare Powdered Material 9. Powdered metallurgy became popular in the knife world with S30V steel and is still associated with higher-end steels. RPM9 steel is high performance due to the powdered metal process that creates a fine grain structure that holds an edge well, sharpens beautifully, and prevents corrosion. It performs somewhere between D2 and 14C28N steels, and it holds up to the rigors of regular use and will excel in adverse conditions.
RoseCraft Blades is an American-owned knife brand with American designers. We find the finest materials and best manufacturers around the world to produce our knives. We are currently seeking manufacturing resources in Italy and Spain, and RoseCraft Blades plans to build a manufacturing facility in the USA in the future.
The RoseCraft Blades tag line is “Be sharp. Stay Sharp.” In that vein, RoseCraft knives are designed for the specific purpose of cutting. While some of our knives offer specific non-knife tools such as a pry or cap lifter, our knife blades should never be used as a pry bar, a chisel, a screwdriver, or for any other unintended purpose. Misuse of your knife may void our Lifetime Warranty.

You may have noticed the Prop 65 warning on our boxes. Prop 65 is a California law enacted in 1986 that requires California residents to be notified of products that could expose them to chemicals known by the state of California to “cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.” In recent years, the law was expanded to apply to all retailers that sell in California, as well as those who sell products under a private label.
The Prop 65 list contains hundreds of chemicals including things like brass, nickel and chromium that have always been a part of steel and knives. As a responsible brand and to comply, we include the warning as required by California law because our products are sold in California. However, carrying or using a knife is no more hazardous than before the California law was enacted.
