What is a Second?
In general, Seconds have a “look” or “feel” that is not in line with First Quality. It will have one or more of the following imperfections: discoloration or wide variation in the handle dye, imperfect jigging, small cracks or fractures near pins, minor blade/bolster/shield imperfections like scratches or poor polish, minor blade wobble, weak or “mushy” blade stops, light pull between stops, poor blade centering (without rub), minor gapping in liners or between handle material and liners, and rough or unfinished edges or transition. Imperfections vary widely and you may or may not be able to find the imperfection that we found in QC.
The RoseCraft Blades Nolichucky Jack is a standard jack pattern inspired by a very old I-X-L pattern. This one-bladed slip joint features a 3″ D2 spear point blade with heavy swedging, a half stop, and a brushed satin finish. The covers are Vintage Moss Brown Bone, with brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, nickel silver pins, and the stainless steel RoseBud shield. It’s 4″ closed, 7″ overall, and weighs just 3oz.
