The RoseCraft Blades Obed Creek Bow Trapper features a 3.1″ D2 classic drop point with a brushed satin finish, heavy swedging, and a half stop. The covers are blue-green Micarta with brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, and nickel silver pins. This pattern introduces the stainless steel Armstrong Skull shield (from designer, Andy Armstrong’s Maker’s Mark) to the RoseCraft line of traditional knives. It’s 4.125″ closed, 7.2″ overall, and weighs just 3.5oz. This bow trapper is an original pattern by Andy Armstrong and has evolved over time.

My first slipjoint knife and I absolutely love it. The fit and finish on this is terrific. The drop-point D2 blade is beautifully done and screaming sharp on arrival. I’ve overcome D2 snobbery and actually enjoy it on my light-use knives. And I’m no walk-and-talk expert, but this is quite snappy and makes for a satisfying fidgeter.
I jumped on this one upon release specifically for the unique skull shield after pondering several other models for some time. Andy Armstrong is a first-class designer and I’m glad I chose this as my introduction to traditional pocket knives. I will definitely be returning to Rosecraft in the future as my collection grows!

I honestly dont know why i bought this. I am not into traditional knives… that being said, i just ordered 3 more. I can not get over the quality and finish of these knives at such a reasonable price point. I cant wait to get my hands on more.

This is my first Rosecraft knife and it definitely won’t be my last! Fit and finish is amazing and I’m not big into sculs but this one just looked too cool to pass up.

I have several Rosecrafts now. This one just came in, happened to be on the same day as a new Case and new Rough Ryder. You guys knock it outta the park every time, the quality and fit and finish just does not compare to either one.
As to this model specifically – was not sure on the bow shape at all, but in hand this feels awesome. Blade is pinch-openable which I like.
