Awanata (pronounced uh-wohn-uh-tuh) means “turtle” in the indigenous Miwok language. We called it the turtle, because it looks a bit like a turtle when it’s closed.

This is a comfortable, well-designed, quality knife. Simple and practical, it is a cutting joy to use. The scales in the photo do not do it justice, as the striations when in the hand stand out nicely. F and F is tops. The pull is strong, but one can easily open it with two fingers, by-passing the nail pull. My only suggestion is that the edges of the nail pull might be less sharp. Great value for what you get for the price.
