RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife: A Traditional Design with Modern Cutting Power
By
If you’re a knife enthusiast or collector, you’re probably familiar with the traditional Doctor’s knife pattern. The RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife takes this classic design and gives it a modern twist with a scalpel-like Wharncliffe blade.
The two-bladed slip joint knife features a 3″ D2 spear point blade and a 2.2″ D2 Wharncliffe blade, both with a brushed satin finish. The knife also boasts genuine Micarta covers, steel liners, nickel silver pins, and a nickel silver rosebud shield. The brushed steel bolsters complete the sleek and stylish look of the knife.
One unique feature of the Holston River Surgeon’s Knife is the intentional “soft pull” on both blades. This means that the pull is about a 2-3 on a scale from 1-10, which is more in line with the pull on traditional pocket knives of old, rather than the heavy pull on most modern traditional knives, including ours. This makes the knife a delicate instrument rather than a nail breaker.
Designed by Andy Armstrong, this knife is 3.75″ when closed and 6.8″ overall when the main blade is open. It’s perfect for those who need a precise cutting tool that won’t let them down.
The RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife is priced at $42.49 and can be purchased at rosecraftblades.com. It’s an excellent investment for anyone who needs a reliable, precise cutting tool that looks as good as it performs.
