The RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife is based on a traditional Doctor’s knife pattern but offers a little more cutting power by replacing the spatula blade with a scalpal-like Wharncliffe.

The RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife is based on a traditional Doctor’s knife pattern but offers a little more cutting power. This two-bladed slip joint knife features a 3” D2 spear point blade and a 2.2” D2 Wharncliffe blade, both with a brushed satin finish. The covers are micarta with steel liners, nickel silver pins, a nickel silver Rosebud Shield, and brushed steel bolsters. It’s 3.75” closed and 6.8” overall with the main blade open. Designed by Andy Armstrong.

I gave this knife 5 stars based on its flawless fit and finish smooth crisp action and beautifluly ground blades. Looks as good or better than some of my customs. No serious cutting yet, but that little wharncliffe secondary blade is scalpel sharp.

A great little pocket dropper for daily light use. Very well made and nice looking also. Easy to open with a lighter pull so you don’t beak a nail. Nice little tool I like a lot.

Scary sharp! Did some surgery to get a splinter out of my wife’s foot… knife did well, bifocals would have been a help ?

I’m very happy with this one. It has become a regular in my purse, and in pants pockets on days where I have them. Delicate enough to be nimble, but the main blade is substantial enough for breaking down cardboard. At first, I found the corners of the handle a bit pokey if I had it in a pocket. After a few weeks of carry, I stopped noticing it. The fit and finish are as good as any knife I own. Easily on par with Case and other folk making traditional knives. I do hope they sell well enough for a special run with RMP-9 steel one day. I’d be all over that.
