Perfect knife. This knife is the best built knife I have, no flaws at all. Sharp with great walk and talk. It is a perfect size to pocket drop and still be large enough to do most jobs. And it looks good.

The Appalachian Jack is as well made as any knife I own and better than most, it rivals custom made knives at a price that is unbelievable.
The walk and talk, fit and finish are impressive. Pull is about a 6 and has a solid snap.
Watch out GEC. Rosecraft is here.

The knife is well finished inside and out It’s very solid in the hand and cuts well right out of the box. The blade grinds are crisp and the finish on the stainless gives it a custom look. Excellent walk and talk, half stop. gorgeous shield, too nice for the price!

The RCB Appalachian Jack is a fantastic knife! It is very well constructed and presents better than other traditional slip joints at higher points! It arrived very sharp and ready for work!
RoseCrafts Blades has hit the ground running and I am very excited for what the future holds for them!

This is a quality blade. The fit and finish is spot on and unlike other knives I have purchased lately (other brands) the blade centering on this knife is dead-freakin’-center in the middle of the channel. It’s actually a little bigger than I expected, easily as big as a full size trapper. Hair-poppin’ sharp right out of the box with a great walk and talk.
This is my fourth RCB but the first traditional from the brand. The team at RoseCraft really is on top of their game. They are putting out some great products. I’m looking forward to seeing what else they have in the works.

What can I say about this knife that hasn’t already been said? Other reviewers are spot on with their observations. Nothing but high praise for this company. My first RoseCraft knife, but it certainly won’t be my last. I’ve got my sights set for the Zambezi next.

Just received my Appalachian Jack- what a beautiful knife! Handsome presentation! Like the China sticker MUCH better than an etch/stamp. Very well constructed. Only negative is the TERRIBLE pull!- hope it “wears in”, I’ve already broken one thumbnail on it! Pull is the only reason this isn’t a 5+ star rating.
RoseCraft –
The pull should be about a 5. If you’re unhappy with the pull or it seems heavier, please contact us at rcb@rosecraftblades.com – we’ll be happy to replace it for you.

After carrying this knife almost daily for several months, it’s still a great tool. The thin full flat grind has sliced its way through many different kinds of food with ease, and it makes a surprisingly good whittler. It’s gained a bit of a pocketworn look from little scratches and dings in the bolsters and micarta that I absolutely love. It feels robust and safe, with a strong backspring that I would say is about a 5.5 pull or maybe a 6.
Would Recommend.

I think that was my very first Rosecraft blade I bought, love the blade shape, the size and old fashioned style!! The kicker is the screw driver blade in the back, very useful and such a great idea.
The knife came razor sharp, fit and finish is right on…very sturdy useful knife!!! Love that one!!!

This knife deserves and gets 5 stars. This one blade slip joint knife is the perfect size for pocket carry. The half stop is very distinct and when fully opened the blade is completely stable with no play in it. When the blade is closed it is very well centered. There are no gaps anywhere on this knife. The D2 steel blade retains a sharp edge and sharpens easily and quickly on a WartHog sharpener. I’m very pleased with this knife. It is the first RoseCraft knife I’ve purchased and since then I’ve purchased several other models. These are great knives, not just for the money, but overall.

What a practical knife, especially if you often open paint cans or any container with that type of friction retaining lid. I suppose that in a pinch the prying apparatus could be used as a flathead screwdriver.
On the first day I owned this knife I barely brushed its tip across the side of my index finger while closing it. Suddenly blood started flowing. The knife is so sharp that I didn’t feel it cut me. I’m impressed because just the very end of the point barely brushed my finger.
One of my dearest friends is a carpenter/handyman/fishing buddy. I’m going to order one of these for him as a Christmas present.
