The RoseCraft Blades Ocoee River Kayak features a 2.33″ D2 K-Clip Blade with a brushed satin finish. It’s 2.7mm thick with a half stop. This one-bladed traditional slip joint features brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, and a steel RoseBud shield. The covers are split blue resin and burl wood. It’s 3.625″ closed, 5.9″ open, and weighs just 2.9oz. Designed by Andy Armstrong
The Ocoee River is based on an original “Kayak” pattern designed by Andy Armstrong. It’s a swell-center canoe with very different blade styles than you’d find on canoe pattern. This one-bladed version is also a “bare-head” because it has only lead bolsters.

The Kayak pattern by Andy Armstrong is wonderful and quite useful for me. The K-clip blade and handle design work great for me when whittling, as well as in everyday tasks. The thing that makes this iteration unique is the blue resin and burl wood covers. They are beautifully executed. The joining of the two materials is smooth and feels wonderful.

This is a well built , easy to use and carry knife that looks good. Small enough to disappear in your pocket, but big enough to handle most jobs.

The Ocoee River Kayak is a fantastic knife! The blade shape and length make it great at opening boxes and other utility tasks (draw cuts, push cuts, etc.). The relatively short cutting edge paired with a downward angled blade makes control cuts easy. This knife has the perfect weight where I forget about it in my pocket yet it feels substantial in my hand. I wear M/L gloves and have a good 3 1/2 finger grip on this knife. I have had other knives where the thinness of the knife handle and/or the tapering off of the tail/end of the handle makes it feel “off” – nothing wrong with those knives but the feel is off. The Ocoee River Kayak has none of those issues/”off” feels with regard to holding and using it – hits a home run! This is not a big knife and it is not a “bushcraft” knife but it is likely all the knife you need for the majority daily tasks you will encounter. I use the Ocoee River Kayak as my EDC knife and pair it with a Victorinox Rambler. The Rambler goes with my keys and the Ocoee River Kayak rides in a slip in my pocket.
