Seven RoseCraft Traditional Pattern Styles headed to the Vault in 2024

Seven RoseCraft Traditional Pattern Styles headed to the Vault in 2024

    By on January 21, 2024

In 2024, RoseCraft Blades will send seven RoseCraft Blades Traditional Slip Join Pattern Styles to the RoseCraft Vault. What does that mean for RoseCraft collectors? It means when these pattern styles are gone, you’re not going to see them again until RoseCraft chooses to bring those pattern styles out of the Vault and back into circulation.

What’s going into the RoseCraft Vault?

RCB Little Riverbend Skinner RCT001The RCT001 Little Riverbend Skinner

The original Little Riverbend Skinner featured white smooth bone covers. This style is already out of stock at RoseCraft Blades and has already been moved to the vault. Some Qualified RoseCraft Dealers may still have this pattern available. Get it while you can.

The pattern itself has already returned in with Black Micarta scales. See it here: Little Riverbend Skinner Black Micarta.

RoseCraft Blades Zambezi RCT002The RCT002 Zambezi

The original Zambezi featuring smoky gray bone covers will not be reordered. Instead, it will be moved to the RoseCraft Vault.  At publication, RoseCraft had about 25 of these knives in stock.

The RoseCraft Blades Zambezi (zam bee zee) is traditional take on a modern EDC utility knife. It features a 2.5″ D2 drop point blade with a satin finish and a long pull. It’s 2.7mm thick and features a 1″ finger choil for a sure grip. This one-bladed slip joint features genuine Smoky Gray Bone covers, brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, nickel silver pins and a stainless steel RoseBud Shield. It’s 3.625″ closed, 6″ overall, and weighs just 3.5oz. Designed as an original pattern by Andy Armstrong.

Zambezi is the South African name for a Bull Shark.

RCB Holston River Surgeon's Knife RCT004The RCT004 Holston River Surgeon’s Knife

The original Holston River Surgeon’s Knife features black Micarta covers. It will not return in this style until RoseCraft chooses to bring it out of the RoseCraft Vault at some point in the future. If this knife isn’t in your collection, add it. It may become very rare in the future.

The RoseCraft Blades Holston River Surgeon’s Knife is based on a traditional Doctor’s knife pattern but offers a little more cutting power. This two-bladed slip joint knife features a 3” D2 spear point blade and a 2.2” D2 Wharncliffe blade, both with a brushed satin finish. The covers are micarta with steel liners, nickel silver pins, a nickel silver Rosebud Shield, and brushed steel bolsters. It’s 3.75” closed and 6.8” overall with the main blade open. Designed by Andy Armstrong.

RoseCraft Blades French Broad Jack RCT007The RCT007 French Broad Jack

The original French Broad Jack features Red Apple Bone covers and will not be reordered. It will be moved to the RoseCraft Vault as soon as stock is gone. At publication, less than 50 of these are currently in stock.

The RoseCraft Blades French Broad Jack features a 3″ D2 Wharncliffe blade with a brushed satin finish. It’s 2.7mm thick and has a half stop. This one-bladed traditional slip joint features brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, and a steel shield. The covers are genuine Red Apple Bone. It’s 3.875″ closed, 6.8″ overall, and weighs 2.5oz. Based on a traditional pattern re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.

RoseCraft Blades Riverbend SkinnerThe RCT008 Riverbend Skinner

The original big brother to the Little Riverbend Skinner features black Micarta handles and is being retired to the RoseCraft Vault when stock is gone. If this knife isn’t in your collection, add it. It may become hard to find in the future.

The RoseCraft Blades Riverbend Skinner is the big brother to the 001 pattern Little Riverbend Skinner. It features a 3.4″ D2 upswept blade with a brushed satin finish and a half stop. This one-bladed slip joint features black Micarta covers with steel liners, nickel silver pins, a steel Rosebud Shield, brushed steel bolsters, and a lanyard tube. It’s 4.5” closed, 7.9” overall, and weighs 4.1oz. The Riverbend Skinner is an original pattern by RoseCraft Designer, Andy Armstrong.

In comparison to its little brother, the Riverbend Skinner has blade that’s .5″ longer, is .6″ longer closed and over an inch longer fully open.

RoseCraft Blades Ocoee River KayakThe RCT009 Ocoee River Kayak

The original Ocoee River Kayak featuring Red Apple Bone covers will be moved to the RoseCraft Vault as soon stock is gone, which might not be long. We suggest you get it now, if you don’t already have it.

The RoseCraft Blades Ocoee River Kayak features a 2.33″ D2 K-Clip Blade with a brushed satin finish. It’s 2.7mm thick with a half stop. It’s 3.625″ closed, 5.9″ open, and weighs just 2.9oz. Designed by Andy Armstrong

The Ocoee River is based on an original “Kayak” pattern designed by Andy Armstrong. It’s a swell-center canoe with very different blade styles than you’d find on canoe pattern. This one-bladed version is also a “bare-head” because it has only lead bolsters.

RoseCraft Blades Loosahatchie Jack RCT010The RCT010 Loosahatchie Jack

The original Loosahatchie Jack with Bourbon Bone covers and dragon scale jigging is headed to the Vault very soon. It’s been through one round of reorder and stock is seriously limited at this point. Get it before it’s gone.

All classic jigging is completed one by one, by hand. We Hand-haft each slip joint so the covers, pins, shields, bolsters, and liners meet perfectly with smooth transitions. We Hand-sharpen every blade to a razor edge, and then we hand-clean, oil, and polish each knife before it’s considered finished.
